已訂閱 Microsoft Xbox Live Gold 的朋友留意！微軟 Microsoft 宣布，品牌將於 9 月開始以 Xbox Game Pass Core 新服務取代現有的 Xbox Live Gold 訂閱計劃，現有 Xbox Live Gold 會員將於 9 月 14 日自動轉至 Xbox Game Pass Core，而 Xbox Game Pass Core 費用就與 Xbox Live Gold 相同，同為每月 US$9.99（約 HK$78.1）或每年 US$59.99（約 HK$468.8）。

隨着 Microsoft 會以 Xbox Game Pass Core 新服務取代 Xbox Live Gold，意味現有的 Games with Gold 都會完結，結束時間為 9 月 1 日。有關福利容許 Xbox 用家在 10 年內每月獲取免費遊戲並將其添加至內容庫中，而過去兌換的任何 Xbox 360 遊戲都可永久保留在內容庫中。只不過 Xbox One 遊戲就將依賴在 Xbox Game Pass Core 或 Game Pass Ultimate 持續訂閱才繼續可玩。品牌會在 Game Pass Core 中包含的超過 25 款遊戲中，旨在用 Gold 來取代 Games，並表示每年將加入新遊戲 2 至 3 次。現時 Game Pass Core 已公布了 19 款精選遊戲，包括 Fallout 76、Forza Horizon 4、Halo 5: Guardians 及 Ori and the Will of the Wisps 等。
不過，Game Pass Core 或會出現的問題是令 Game Pass 網上多人遊戲同玩出現混亂情況，即使 Game Pass Core 包含多人遊戲，但訂閱價格較高的 Xbox Game Pass 卻沒有，故用家仍需要 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 才能享受 Game Pass 和網上多人遊戲同玩的優勢。
